Let's pick Bitcoin, just to be concrete. It's 8 in the morning. I'm sitting down and asking, “what's in play today?” First, what is this asset and who tends to be involved? Long-term holders, leveraged traders, institutions, market makers. Then I ask what each cares about and what just changed. Say there's a surprise rate hike announced. That likely pressures some participants more than others. Now I'm not predicting a number, I'm just estimating whether selling pressure is likely to dominate or be absorbed. Then, I watch how the market actually responds to that news. If it doesn't fit my story, I update, maybe stand down. If my confidence rises, only then think about execution. Invalidation first, entry second, sizing last. The hardest part is not finding an entry. It's admitting when your model doesn't say anything clear.
